Rajasthan Students lsquostripsearchedrsquo over theft charge in Sikar

Without wasting time, the accused teachers asked the students if any of them had taken the money. But, before they could celebrate, the school witnessed chaotic scenes.A girl of Class XI was collecting contribution from her fellow classmates. When the teachers did not get satisfactory reply, they decided to search the bags of the students. However, the students alleged that during the search, they were asked to remove clothes.When large number of students and their parents started gathering from early Thursday morning, the police rushed to the spot to take control over the situation.

JAIPUR: Many students gathered outside a government-run school in Kudli of Sikar district alleged that they were forced to strip during a search of lost money which was collected by students of Class XI for giving farewell to Class XII students.The alleged incident happened on Wednesday but the students along with the parents protested against the incident on Thursday. They alleged that they were asked to remove clothes for checking.For the past few days, Class XI students were preparing for organising farewell of Class XII students. But, before they could celebrate, the school witnessed chaotic scenes.A girl of Class XI was collecting contribution from her fellow classmates. But, when she had to leave for taking part in assembly, she left the money in the classroom. When she came back, she found that money was missing. She informed the teachers about the incident. Without wasting time, the accused teachers asked the students if any of them had taken the money. When the teachers did not get satisfactory reply, they decided to search the bags of the students. However, the students alleged that during the search, they were asked to remove clothes.When large number of students and their parents started gathering from early Thursday morning, the police rushed to the spot to take control over the situation. “When I got the information, I rushed my police team from Dadiya police station. In initial investigation, it has been found that a girl had lost her money which she had collected as contribution from other students for a farewell party. But, she lost the money,” Sikar SP, Amandeep Singh Kapoor told TOI.Kapoor said, “The matter did not escalate up to a level which required filing of any sort of complaint. We found that no such incident has happened in which students were forced to strip off their clothes.”However, the police said that it was some sort of differences between some students and physical training instructor (PTI) of the schools, which has resulted in the incident. “We found that a group of students do not like physical training instructor Kumbharam due to certain reasons. The students tried to defame the PTI who alleged that the PTI had asked to remove their clothes,” said Brijendra Singh, station house officer, Dadiya of Sikar district.Singh said that it is true that the students were forced for checking of their bags.However, the villagers sat on dharna outside school and demanded action against accused teachers. The school, where the incident took place is a Adarsh (model) School. It took a lot of efforts for the police to control the situation and after pacifying the livid villagers they managed to control the situation. No one has registered any complaint against the incident at the police station.
