3 DA hike announced for Rajasthan govt employees

JAIPUR: The state government on Friday announced an additional dearness allowance (DA) of 3 % to its employees.With this announcement, the DA of the state government employees rose to 12%. The decision will benefit about eight lakh employees and 3.5 lakh pensioners.Chief minister Ashok Gehlot , who had undergone surgery in Mumbai, approved the DA hike after returning to the state capital. Chief minister holds the finance department.A few days ago, the central government had also decided to give an additional DA of 3% to its employees.The order issued by the finance department said the hike is effective from January 2019.“The amount of increase in DA from January 1 to February 28, 2019 will be credited in to the general provident fund account of the employees and cash payment will be made for the month of March,” the order saidThe arrear of DA from January 1 to February 28 this year to the employees recruited to the civil services on or after January 1 and who are governed by the contributory provident fund scheme will be paid in cash, said the order.
