JAIPUR: Referring to the delay in the announcing the elections dates, chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday accused the election commission of working under the pressure of Modi government.“Like other constitutional bodies, election commission also appears to be working under the diktats of the government. We were hearing that they will announce the dates first on March 4, then 8th and 9th but finally they did it today (Sunday),” said Gehlot, while talking to media persons in Delhi. Later, he also clarified that he has no objections to the Election Commission declaring dates today, as it is their prerogative to decide the date.Talking about Congress’ poll strategy, Gehlot said that the party will reach out to the public exposing the false claims made by the Modi government. “People will question them on the claims made by them on unemployment, Kashmir, Rafale etc. They will be the key issues in the polls and they cannot evade them now,” said Gehlot.Deputy CM Sachin Pilot expressed confidence of UPA winning the polls. He said, " Congress has regained confidence with its victory in three states - Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh. The victories have enabled us to sew up more alliances across the country making us stronger to take on NDA."Slamming BJP for raising frivolous issues ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, Pilot said, "People have realized that BJP has made jumlas throughout their tenure. It is Congress governments which have delivered for the nation."BJP was also not behind is exuding confidence over its victory in Lok Sabha polls. Union minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, said, “BJP is set to come to the power. This is time for the BJP Lok Sabha members to tell people about the developmental work we have done under the leadership of Modiji. Our dedication, honestly and people centric schemes will bring us back."Addressing the BJP municipal councillors, Chandrashekar, general secretary (organization) has asked them that victory for PM Narendra Modi is very important for the nation. “All active BJP workers should reach out to the voters in the age group of 18-22 and tell them about the achievements of PM Modi. Our 10,000 workers should take a pledge to reach out at least 10 families and tell them about the work done by BJP government.
