Dhaba owners fined Rs 25,000 for littering

While inspecting ward 53, mayor saw two sanitation workers Mukesh and Ramkishore, dumping the garbage in the drains. JAIPUR: The commissioner of Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC), Vijay Pal Singh went around for a surprise inspection to look at the sanitation condition of the city. With the ranking of Jaipur gone down, there is lot of pressure on the JMC authorities to improve the sanitation condition of the city.

JAIPUR: The commissioner of Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC), Vijay Pal Singh went around for a surprise inspection to look at the sanitation condition of the city. As Jaipur bagged 44th position in Swacchhta Survekshan of 2019, which is five positions down as compared to that of last year, JMC authorities have become more vigilant to keep the city clean.Commissioner went around areas like Moti Dungri Road, Tonk Road, Apex Circles, Gandhi Nagar and Civil Lines . He saw a lot of scattered garbage while passing through Swami Vivekanand market near Vaishno dhabha. He fined the owners of the dhabha for Rs 25,000 for spreading garbage in the city. He also warned other restaurant owners of serious consequences for the same. He further directed the sanitation officials to keep the cleanliness intact and act against those who are lenient towards their job. With the ranking of Jaipur gone down, there is lot of pressure on the JMC authorities to improve the sanitation condition of the city. It has been affected by the state assembly elections, mayoral elections and other political ups and downs in the JMC.Jaipur mayor Vishnu Lahta travelled across the city on Friday for a surprise inspection of sanitary conditions and suspended two sanitation workers after finding many irregularities. While inspecting ward 53, mayor saw two sanitation workers Mukesh and Ramkishore, dumping the garbage in the drains. He immediately suspended them. In a similar case, two sanitation inspectors were given notices and a departmental inquiry is to be done for irregularities in their respective zones. Mayor later said, “There are thousands of sanitation workers in Jaipur but if the roads are not clean what is their use. This drive will continue and the concerned officials should take notice of the condition of their zones, else they should be ready to face the consequences.”
