5 of family get life term for murder in Kota

KOTA: A trial court in Bundi on Wednesday convicted five members of a family, including two women, to life imprisonment for brutally murdering a 28-year-old man following enmity over a love affair. A case under sections of IPC for murder was lodged in Bundi Sadar police station in this connection against the five, he added.The judge held the five guilty of murder under sections of IPC on Wednesday and convicted them to life imprisonment, he added. At least 53 documents were produced before the court during the trial and statements of 16 witnesses were recorded. The deceased and his brother were apparently involved romantically with the daughters of the convicts’ family. “He was rushed to government hospital in Bundi where on October 22, 2015 he succumbed to his injuries during treatment,” Sharma said.

The court imposed a penalty of Rs 2,000 on each of the five convicts.Judge of the SC/ST cases’ court, Deepak Dubey convicted Devilal Jangid , 60, his wife Jaggannathibai, 55, his son Devakar, 35, brother Mahavir, 55, and his wife Kaileshibai, 50, all resident of Gudanathwat village under Bundi Sadar police station of Bundi district Special public prosecutor (SPP) Mahendra Kumar Sharma said the five convicts attacked one Vijay Sharma, 28, of the village on October 15, 2015 with sharp weapons and sticks while he was passing through the streets. The deceased and his brother were apparently involved romantically with the daughters of the convicts’ family. “He was rushed to government hospital in Bundi where on October 22, 2015 he succumbed to his injuries during treatment,” Sharma said.
