Lowquality food to poll staff Medical officer gets notice

The district election department taking cognizance of the incident had issued show-cause notice to the contractor (Vrindavan catering) and those responsible for checking the food items. So, we have issued show-cause notice today to the CMHO also. "But he (Chotwani) also said that he didn't receive the duty orders from the CMHO (Chief medical health officer). Therefore, it becomes a matter of inquiry whether the food inspector is at fault or the CMHO. "We have also suspended five persons for absenting themselves willfully from training without prior permission and put them under APO (awaiting posting order).

JAIPUR: District election officer (DEO) and collector Jagroop Singh Yadav on Tuesday said that show-cause notice has been issued to chief medical and health officer (CMHO) Narottam Sharma for alleged negligence in the supply of food packets to the polling officers at the training centres on Monday.Moreover, the district election department has also suspended five persons out of the 260, who had absented themselves from election training without prior information. All the 260 government employees have been issued notices and would receive a red remark in their service book.One of the persons (food inspector Sushil Chotwani) responsible for checking of the quality of food has been issued notice and is likely to be suspended for negligence, said the collector."But he (Chotwani) also said that he didn't receive the duty orders from the CMHO (Chief medical health officer). Therefore, it becomes a matter of inquiry whether the food inspector is at fault or the CMHO. So, we have issued show-cause notice today to the CMHO also. If he found to be guilty, we will take action against him,” Yadav told TOI."We have also suspended five persons for absenting themselves willfully from training without prior permission and put them under APO (awaiting posting order). We will also put a note to their respective heads of departments that an adverse entry should be made in their service records. We have issued notices to all the 260 employees as well and they will receive a red remark in their service book for not participating in the election training," he added.The polling officers, who were being trained for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections at the Officers' Training School (OTS), Poddar Institute and Khaitan College complained about poor quality food served at the training centres on Monday. They protested and threatened to boycott the training session.
