NWR introduces special trains to meet holiday rush

Jaipur: In order to meet the summer rush, the North Western Railway (NWR) have introduced many ‘holiday special’ trains to various important destinations. “This will also cater to the passengers travelling from Jodhpur to Ahmedabad, Surat and Mehsana,” said an officer. Holiday special trains to Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune and other destinations are introduced by the NWR.People travelling to Delhi have options like Double-Decker, Shatabdi Express, Rajdhani Express, Ashram Express, Jammu Tawi, now they will get another tri-weekly holiday special train which would operate from April 2 to June 28. Since the regular trains are already showing long waiting list for the months of May and June, the introduction of these trains is likely to give some relief to the passengers travelling in numbers to various destinations. This train will run on every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday,” said Abhay Sharma, chief public relations officer, NWR on Sunday.

Holiday special trains to Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune and other destinations are introduced by the NWR.People travelling to Delhi have options like Double-Decker, Shatabdi Express, Rajdhani Express, Ashram Express, Jammu Tawi, now they will get another tri-weekly holiday special train which would operate from April 2 to June 28. “For those who can’t get up early to take trains like Double-Decker and Ashram Express can use this train as this will start from Jaipur at 7.55 am and will reach Delhi at 1.20 pm. The train would start from Delhi at 3.20 pm and reach Jaipur at 9.20 pm. This train will run on every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday,” said Abhay Sharma, chief public relations officer, NWR on Sunday. From Jaipur, apart from the regular option of the train, 09723/09724 would also operate to Bandra terminal from April 3 to June 28. “This would be available once a week on Wednesdays,” he added.For those who are planning to travel to Mumbai from Jodhpur, a bi-weekly train between Jodhpur-Bandra will operate from April 3 to June 28. “This will also cater to the passengers travelling from Jodhpur to Ahmedabad, Surat and Mehsana,” said an officer. For those looking for pilgrimage to Vaishno Devi will also get a train, Udaipur-Jammu Tawi-Udaipur via Jaipur would connect Jaipur to Ajmer, Jaipur to Bhilwara, Jaipur to Udaipur and passengers of these cities to Jammu Tawi. This train is also a weekly train that will operate from April 4 to June 27. It will have 13 trips during this period.Trains to Mumbai, Pune, Jammu and Delhi are already overcrowded and have no seats. “During this period the emergency quota request also rises and tatkal ticket booking also increases,” said a senior officer of commercial wing of NWR.
