JAIPUR: Heat wave conditions were witnessed across the state when majority of places witnessed maximum temperatures on or above 39 degree Celsius. However, an increase of 5 to 6 degree Celsius was recorded in the Pink City in the past two days. The ongoing spell of the heat wave also brought abrupt power cuts in the city. The minimum and maximum temperatures of various places across the state were above the normal notch. Till Friday the minimum temperatures in the city were on or below 18 degree Celsius and nip in the air was maintained.

JAIPUR: Heat wave conditions were witnessed across the state when majority of places witnessed maximum temperatures on or above 39 degree Celsius. The minimum and maximum temperatures of various places across the state were above the normal notch. Pali remained hottest in the state where a maximum temperature of 43 degree Celsius was recorded, the Met reports said on Sunday.Attributing the continued rise in the temperatures to the active northerly winds Jaipur Met office said that despite cloudy conditions on Monday the temperatures will further rise in the state. Heat wave conditions will further aggravate in the eastern and western parts of the state in the next 24 hours.Jaipurites woke up to the warmest morning of the season so far as a minimum temperature of 23.7 degree Celsius, almost 6 degrees above the normal notch was recorded in the city. Till Friday the minimum temperatures in the city were on or below 18 degree Celsius and nip in the air was maintained. However, an increase of 5 to 6 degree Celsius was recorded in the Pink City in the past two days. Due to the increase in the temperatures people got engaged in the service of their air-conditioners and air-coolers. The ongoing spell of the heat wave also brought abrupt power cuts in the city. In the afternoon a maximum temperature of 39.8 degree Celsius was recorded.However, Jaipur Met office further stated that mild showers are likely to occur at a few places in the northern Rajasthan but that is not going to give much relief from heat wave conditions. Pali was followed by Churu where a maximum temperature of 42 degree Celsius was recorded, Barmer 41, Kota 40.4 and a maximum temperature of 40.0 degree Celsius was recorded in Jodhpur.As the water level at Bisalpur and other dams across the state is depleting, the continued rise in the temperatures have also introduced water crisis. At many districts including Bhilwara, Ajmer, Tonk and some parts of Jaipur people are getting water supply through water tankers.In its forecast Jaipur Met office said that heat wave conditions will further aggravate in the state in the next 24 hours especially in the northern and eastern parts of the state.
