JAIPUR: Three people, including a city-based couple, were killed after the car in which they were travelling rammed into a stationary truck near Kotputli on Del-Jaipur National Highway on Sunday afternoon.The deceased have been identified as Avnesh Singhal(68) and his wife Vimla (65), both residents of NRI Colony in Jaipur. The third person, who was killed in the accident, has been identified as one Arvind Pilania from Gurgaon.The Paragpura police said that the accident happened near the Bagawas flyover when the driver of the car fell asleep. “The car was speeding and there was a truck parked alongside the road, away from the main driving lane. It is suspected that the driver may have dozed off and rammed the vehicle into the rear of the truck,” SHO Hitesh Sharma informed TOI.Jaipur: Meanwhile, Kotputli circle officer Dinesh Kumar Yadav told TOI that the driver had escaped unscathed due to the air bags. “The car driver said that he was taking the couple from Delhi to Jaipur. We have handed over the bodies to their relatives after post-mortem,” he said.Police officials, who went to the spot, told TOI that the accident was so severe that the car had turned into a mangled heap. “The couple were killed on the spot. Their bodies were taken out of the car with great care as the bodies were entangled,” said the official. In his statement, the truck driver said that he had parked his truck on the road a little lower to the highway. “The car driver probably lost control over the wheel and began swerve on the highway before it crashed into the truck,” police said, adding that the couple lived in Jaipur. The third victim Pilania hailed from Gurgaon and was accompanying them.
