BJP not in a hurry to call for a floor test in Rajasthan

  • | Wednesday | 15th July, 2020

A BJP leader in Delhi said the party would not seek a floor test unless it is confident that both the CM Ashok Gehlot and Pilot factions are falling short of numbers.

On Tuesday, Sachin Pilot was removed from the posts of Rajasthan Deputy CM and state Congress President. MLAs from his camp have also been demanding floor test, claiming that Gehlot has lost the majority.

However, the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) is playing its cards very cautiously. BJP state unit president Satish Ponia while talking to reports on Tuesday refrained from calling floor test.

“At present, we are not demanding anything. It is a corrupt government and it mismanaged the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) crisis. It has become a weak government. This government should go away in the interests of the people,” Ponia said.
