Covid-19 Crisis Looms Large As Vaccine Exhausts In Rajasthan

Rajasthan received a record all-time high of 5,105 fresh cases of Covid-19 on Sunday (11 April). Lake City Udaipur was the biggest contributor with 864 cases reported on Sunday.
Covid-19 spread has wreaked havoc in the western state of Rajasthan, as record 5,105 fresh cases were reported on Sunday. The 8-day infection rate in the state has increased from 3.68% to 8.89%.
Udaipur is becoming the biggest hotspot, leaving Jaipur, Jodhpur behind. The highest number of 864 new cases was found here on Sunday, which is the highest number of cases found in a single day in any district of the state. To curb the infection, all the shrines in Udaipur have been closed for 10 days. At the same time, fairs have been banned in the rural areas of Jaipur till April 30.
Vaccination is completely stopped in many districts of Rajasthan due to lack of vaccines, 10 thousand vaccines were ordered from Udaipur to celebrate the vaccine festival in Jaipur that lasted for just two hours. The Rajasthan government says that the Center has said that it will provide four lakh vaccines by Sunday evening, but Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot says that we apply 5 and a half lakh Corona vaccines daily in the state. In such a situation, even one day will not be completed with fewer amount of doses.
In view of the uncontrollable situation, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has indicated this to introduce more strict restrictions soon. Chief Minister said that the lockdown creates a livelihood crisis, so we will not put a lockdown, but will take different strict steps.
