63 private hospitals in Jaipur face a severe shortage of Oxygen Cylinders

There is an uproar in the country for the shortage of medical Oxygen, similarly, Covid dedicated hospitals in Rajasthan`s Jaipur are facing an acute shortage of oxygen cylinders.

63 private hospitals in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, have demanded from the government that oxygen should be made available as soon as possible, otherwise it will be difficult to keep patients here. The condition of government hospitals is also getting worse. Hospitals do not have beds and there is a severe shortage of oxygen

Serious patients are admitted to Jaipur`s ESI Hospital but only forty oxygen cylinders are available, while 180 oxygen cylinders are needed here.

IAS Ravi Jain, appointed to supply medical oxygen in the Jaipur district, is constantly meeting with nodal officers and industrial unit operators.

He says that the shortage of oxygen cannot be denied. Right now there is a situation of the net to net fight in Jaipur. We are only able to give 70% of the demand coming from hospitals. About 9 to 10 thousand cylinders are needed daily in Jaipur, but only 7 thousand cylinders are available.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also raised the issue of lack of oxygen in the state during video conferencing with the Prime Minister.
