Rajasthan: 10 die due to lack of oxygen in Jaipur, Bikaner and Kota

Rajasthan received 16,089 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, while a record 121 people succumbed to the deadly coronavirus in the state. The capital city of Jaipur has been worst hit by the outbreak as 3,289 fresh cases were recorded, while 21 people died of Covid-19 here.
The Covid-19 situation is becoming uncontrollable due to the lack of medical oxygen and beds in Rajasthan. 10 patients died in Jaipur, Bikaner, Kota due to the scarcity of oxygen. Four patients died after oxygen cylinders ran out on Tuesday night at a private hospital in Jaipur. In Kota and Bikaner, 6 patients died due to lack of oxygen.

Four patients succumbed at the Khandaka Hospital in Jaipur late on Tuesday night. It is being told that there was also a backup of oxygen in the hospital, but due to the negligence of the hospital administration, the oxygen cylinders could not be changed. After the incident, the responsible staff fled from the hospital.
Similarly, three patients died of oxygen deficiency at PBM Hospital in Bikaner. The video of the patients dying of suffering from lack of oxygen went viral on internet media on Wednesday morning. The relatives of the deceased said that there was no oxygen in the hospital. In Kota, three patients getting treated at different hospitals died due to oxygen scarcity. On the deaths, Health Minister Dr Raghu Sharma says that the state is getting less oxygen than the demand from the central government.
A 500-bed covid care centre has started its operation, it comes as a for Jaipur residents amid the current situation. Patients with no or mild symptoms will be treated at this facility.
