The government is expected to tighten the current restrictions for social gatherings like wedding, death rituals, funerals, and other social types of gathering in the new guidelines. The new restrictions will be announced on May 3.
Covid-19 continues to deteriorate in the state as record cases are being reported in Rajasthan.
In view of the gross violations of safety norms and the recent surge in the Covid-19 cases in the state, the Gehlot government is going to tighten the current restrictions in a fresh set of guidelines to be released on 3 May. It is believed that strict decisions can be taken regarding the wedding ceremony and riding in private buses, in a high-level meeting.
The government is expected to tighten the current restrictions for social gatherings like wedding, death rituals, funerals, and other social types of gathering in the new guidelines. The new restrictions will be announced on May 3.
The government can ban private buses completely, due to blatant violation of the 50 % occupancy rule. At the same time, the number of guests at the wedding ceremony can be reduced from 50 to 21. At present, the government has allowed 50 people to attend the wedding ceremony, despite this, the guidelines are being violated openly.
Chief Minister took feedback from Transport Department
The Chief Minister has also taken feedback from the Transport Department regarding this. After that, it is believed that the government can take a tough decision regarding private buses. Along with this, the number of devotees allowed in religious places will be capped too.
The wedding ceremonies being organised in different cities and villages amid the second wave of Covid-19 are turning into super-spreaders, open violation of Covid-19 SOPs at these social ceremonies in villages has led to a massive spurt in new cases; however, there were almost no cases of Covid-19 in the villages last year.
