Daughter jumps on father`s burning pyre in Rajasthan, critical with 70 pc burns

A shocking incident has come to light from Rajasthan`s Barmer district where a 30-year-old daughter of a man, jumped into his father`s burning pyre during his cremation.

There is an outcry across the country due to Covid-19 and an atmosphere of despair looms over the entire country. Similarly, the second wave of Covid-19 has wreaked havoc in Rajasthan. A shocking incident has come to light from Rajasthan`s Barmer district where a 30-year-old daughter of a man, jumped into his father`s burning pyre during his cremation.

Actually, Niwali Damodar Das of Roy Colony of Barmer died due to Covid-19. The last rites of the dead body were being performed at the cremation ground at the district headquarters on Tuesday evening. After lighting the pyre, suddenly Damodar Das`s daughter Chandra Sharda (30) jumped into the burning pyre.

Suddenly, the people who were shocked by this incident started trying to get her out of the burning pyre, somehow her elder sister Pinki managed to drag her out of the pyre; however, by the time she was dragged out, more than 70 % of her body had been scorched. She was rushed to the district hospital, which referred her to Jodhpur after preliminary treatment.
