Rajasthan man suffering from rare Axis Hypersomnia sleeps for 300 days in a year

Doctors say that he is suffering from a rare disease called Axis hypersomnia. 

A good sleeping cycle is a necessity for every person and 8-hour sleep is a must for the human body.
A unique and heart-wrenching case of oversleeping has surfaced from Nagaur district of Rajasthan where a person sleeps for 300 days a year; he is often called as "Kumbh Karan".

According to a report, this case is from Bhadwa village of Nagaur district, 42-year-old Purkharam, who lives here, is facing a rare disease. Due to this disease, once he fell asleep, Purkharam could not get up for several days. Purkharam`s family members told that he does not wake up for 25 days after sleeping once.

According to a report, it started 23 years ago. In the initial phase, Purkharam slept for 5 to 7 days but it took a lot of effort to wake him up. He was taken to the doctor then but no one could sense the disease.

Gradually Purkharam`s sleeping time increased. Now Purkharam sometimes sleeps for 25 days. Doctors say that he is suffering from a rare disease called Axis hypersomnia. Purkharam`s wife Lichmi Devi says that the village also has a shop of its own, but it is mostly closed. The old mother told that right now I am living in agriculture, but I am worried about the education of one grandson and two granddaughters and their future.

On the other hand, Purkharam says that he desires to have a normal sleep cycle and do his daily routine and but his body does not support him. Earlier he used to sleep for about 18 -18 hours, now it often happens that he keep sleeping for 20-25 days.
