Udaipur: In a case of long standing property dispute between families, a woman attacked and killed a woman ex-sarpanch in Nandvel village of Sakroda under Dabok police station area here on Saturday. The villagers caught the accused who was later arrested by the police. The victim Usha Sharma was ex-sarpanch of Sakroda and her daughter Khushbu Sharma is the present sarpanch of the area.The incident took place in the morning when Usha was supervising some construction work over a disputed piece of land in the village. Some three bigha of the land belonged to the Devsthan department while two bigha belonged to Usha. However, another woman Kamla Sharma too claimed her rights over the plot. While Usha was instructing the labourers, Kamla reached there and the two women had a verbal spat that soon turned ugly. In a fit of fury, Kamla grabbed a sharp edged agriculture tool and hit it hard on Usha's head. The victim died on the spot while the villagers who were witness to the incident caught hold of Kamla and informed the police. Pratapnagar police took the accused in custody and shifted the body to the morgue.
