RBSE to stop declaring merit list for board exams from this year

This is the first time when a board will not declare merit list in board examination.The decision has been taken because the board was facing problems with the system and declaring merit list was creating pressure among students.The proposal was accepted by the managing committee of the board in the budget meeting on Saturday.In fact, CBSE had discontinued the system of declaring merit list two decades back.According to the board, now RBSE will now not declare any temporary or final list of merit. Ajmer: The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) will not declare the merit list of board examinations from this year. This year, the board collected money by taking action against schools who delayed submitting fees in different categories.Moreover, it was decided to conduct supplementary practical exams of 2017 from August 1 and supplementary exams from August 10 this year.In 2018, the board examinations of Class X will be from March 15 and exams of Class XII will be from March 8. This would mean that examiners and supervisors from different districts will not be called for the practical exams.In case, the number of teachers from government schools fall short then teachers from nearby district will be called.Only under very special circumstances, teachers from private schools will be involved for practical examinations of board classes.Another important decision taken by the board was to limit the number of answer sheets given to one examiner for evaluation. However, it will honour students who achieve highest marks in the yearly convocation and first, second and third positions will be awarded.The board will also provide list of marks of students to the government for the purpose of distributing scholarships, laptops and Gargi awards to students scoring high marks in different subjects.The committee also decided that from 2018, the practical examinations of board classes will be organized under the supervision of teachers from government schools in the district.

From 2018, each examiner will evaluate only 360 answer sheets in total, rather than evaluating hundreds of answer sheets in a few days.In addition, the board has also decided to take action against those teachers who refused to evaluate answer sheets in board examination, 2017.The committee also decided that those private schools who have applied for permanent affiliation from the board till October 10, 2016 will be granted the same soon if students of the school are appearing regularly in board exams.The committee also passed a budget of Rs 214.59 crore in which the deficit went to Rs 12.46 crore.Last year, the deficit was Rs 46 crore. This year, the board collected money by taking action against schools who delayed submitting fees in different categories.Moreover, it was decided to conduct supplementary practical exams of 2017 from August 1 and supplementary exams from August 10 this year.In 2018, the board examinations of Class X will be from March 15 and exams of Class XII will be from March 8.
