Jaipur: A day after a five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in Virantnagar village in Jaipur Rural, the villagers on Friday staged protested against the district administration and demanded immediate ban on liquor shops and quick arrest of the accused.Several protests had been reported in Viratnagar after the father of the toddler filed an FIR against an unnamed person for allegedly raping her five-year-old daughter. The minor's father had said in his complaint that her daughter had gone to her uncle's house in nearby location when one person kidnapped her and raped her near a secluded area."There are marks on her bodies which shows that she may have also been beaten up by the accused. The girl was unconscious when she was found by her parents," the police official said, adding that girl has been rushed to Jaipurs JK Lone hospital where she is currently undergoing treatment."She had gone through a surgery on Friday morning, and her condition is currently stable. However, we are keeping a close watch on her parameters to ensure that her condition doesn't deteriorate," a doctor TOI, adding that all possible medical help will be extended to the girl.The police said that the accused has been identified and search teams have been formed to nab the accused who had been hiding to evade the arrest."The accused took the girl on the pretext of giving her a biscuit, however, he took her to a place and raped her. We have sent teams to catch the accused," Bharat Meena, SHO, Virat Nagar police station told TOI.Even on Friday, the villagers blocked the National Highway and raised slogans against the district administration for failing to shut down the liquor shops. "Our demands are simple- arrest the accused, and close all the liquor shops which remain even after midnight night. Liquor shops a bus depot has been flout the law as it doesn't close shutters before 11pm in the night," alleged a resident. The protest was called off after the police assured the villagers of swift action against the miscreants.The police station at Virat Nagar has registered a case under section 376 (rape) of IPC and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
