City lad joins US army at Rs 1.2Cr pay package

Jaipur: City lad Monark Sharma has been appointed as scientist in the AH-64E combat fighter helicopter unit of the US army.Headquartered in Fort Hood, Texas, Sharma bagged the opportunity with an annual remuneration of Rs 1.20 crore. His role includes designing, inspection, manufacturing and maintenance of the fighter plane which was inducted in the US army this year.Sharma started his career as junior research scientist at NASA in the mass communication wing in 2013. Thereafter, he joined U S army in May 2016. Within few months, Sharma proved excellence in work—designing and research part which made him the recipient of two prestigious awards—Army Service Medal and Safety Excellence Award both in 2016.Son of an additional private secretary in Rajasthan police Rakesh Sharma has keen interest in space science and defence equipments. Presently, he is travelling in the country taking sessions on leadership with the students of institutes. "I may not have got the opportunity to serve in the Indian armed force but all my moves in the US were intended to bring pride for my country. Here I am reaching out to my fellow Indian students to inspire them that anyone can attain success in life with sheer hard work," said Sharma who studied from Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain School in C Scheme, Jaipur.His participation in NASA's Moon Baggi Project in 2011 and Luna Boat in 2012 has changed the fortunes for him.
