"He was arrested for disturbing peace as his post was taken seriously by social networking users. The raids took place at 10pm on Saturday.

Jaipur: A man was arrested by Jodhpur (Rural) police late on Monday evening for allegedly tampering with his Facebook post to mislead people that Anandpal Singh was killed in a fake encounter. Amidst protests after death of the notorious fugitive, Nagaur police and Jodhpur (Rural) collectively cracked the act which was meant to mislead people and spread rumours.The accused identified as Veer Indra Saran on Sunday morning edited his FB post in which he had posted "Aaj Ho Sakti Hai Anandpal Ki Giraftari ya encounter (Today there is a possibility of Anandpal's arrest or encounter)."It was found that the time of this post was 8.57pm on Saturday which gave an impression that the man had prior information about sleuths of SOG raiding a house to catch notorious fugitive Anandpal Singh. The raids took place at 10pm on Saturday. However, after a strict surveillance by police technical team it was found that he had actually posted 'Kash Bharat Main Shivaji the Boss Paida ho Jaye (Hope Shivaji the Boss takes birth in India) at 8.57 pm on Saturday but the accused on Sunday morning edited the same post and also edited the time of post to mislead people," said a senior police officer.His post was widely shared throughout on Sunday and Monday morning in which many people also mentioned that he had edited his post on Sunday itself to mislead people.He changed his original post and converted it into a buzz on Anandpal by also changing the time and date which created confusion among people. "He was arrested for disturbing peace as his post was taken seriously by social networking users. Finally, he apologised through another Facebook post in which he admitted to having tempered with his original post," the officer added.
