Ajmer: ACB on Tuesday evening arrested Ajmer senior clerk of Ajmer Municipal Corporation, Surender Kumar, while accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 from a contractor for passing bills. A chaiwala (tea seller), Premnath, was also arrested for being the middleman.According to sources, contractor Kaushal Kishore Chittoria owns a firm which works for construction of road, drainage and other construction works of municipality. Recently, he completed a repair work in municipality's garden and was waiting for payment. The complainant stated, when he approached Surender, the latter demanded Rs 5,000 as bribe to clear the cheque and instructed to pay the amount to Premnath, who sells tea outside the corporation's gate.Later, Kaushal explained the whole matter to ACB office in Ajmer after they planned a trap. Kaushal paid the money to Premnath and informed the Surender who asked the chaiwala to bring money to him.When Premnath handed over the money to Surender, ACB team caught them red handed. The duo will be produced in the court on Wednesday.
