Two arrested for extortion in Kota honeytrap case

Kota: A 35-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were arrested for extorting money from a businessman in Kota by forcibly making his vulgar photo and video clips with the woman. Police lodged the case in the matter reportedly only after the intervention by the home ministry. Eventually, Jain's friends and other businessmen of the community mounted pressure on police and called home minister Gulab Chand Kataria. Afshana was earlier arrested under Immoral Traffic and Prevention Act (PITA), he said.The businessman yesterday visited one police station to another police station to lodge complaint in the matter. Later, in pretext of repaying him the amount, Nama took Jain to a house in R K Puram area where he also called a woman named Afshana (29), a resident of Bombay Yojana.

The accused were produced before the court which sent them to judicial custody.One of the two accused, Monu alias Ashish Nama (35), a resident of Dadabari area of Kota on Friday called one Rajesh Jain, a local businessman, at his home and assured him that he would get back the huge amount of Rs 7 lakh that he had lent to Gyanesh Jain for business investment a few months ago but he was not repaying the amount. Later, in pretext of repaying him the amount, Nama took Jain to a house in R K Puram area where he also called a woman named Afshana (29), a resident of Bombay Yojana. While the three were in a room, Nama forcibly made some vulgar photos and video clips of Jain and the woman with his mobile and later both Nama and the woman demanded Rs 5 lakh and threatened to upload the clips on social sites and expose them to his friends and relatives. Jain while being held as hostage in the house, called his friends and family members for the money but at the same times, he managed to escape from the house in excuse of natural call.Accused Ashish Nama (35) of Dadabari area and Afshana were arrested and produced before the court which sent them to judicial custody, told Dhanraj Meena, circle in-charge (CI), R K Puram police station.
