Transfer land to Police Dept, SSP tells Nagar Council

Our CorrespondentNakodar, June 15Senior Superintendent of police (Rural) Navjot Singh Mahal has urged the Nurmahal Nagar Council (NNC) to initiate proceedings to transfer common land to the Police Department for Nurmahal police station. Mahal, in an official communication to the president and executive officer of the Nurmahal nagar council, said in 2007 Nurmahal police station was located at a private building. He said people of the town took initiative and donated six kanals 18 marlas, belonging to ‘Patti’ of the town and spent Rs 25 lakh for the construction of the building for police station Nurmahal. Mahal said in 2008 the Revenue Department had changed revenue entry of the land from ‘Gair mumkin chhapar’ (uncultivated pond) to Nurmahal police station. He said: “The building of police station Saanjh Kendra Nakodar has been construction with the government grant which has been functioning from 2012.”The SSP said: “The Home Department has issued warning letters for sending no-objection certificate for transferring land to the police department, adding that according to a decision of the Supreme Court of India in Civil appeal number 1132/2011 this land can be transferred to the Police Department.”He said: “A new resolution should be passed for transferring the land as soon as possible and send a no objection certificate to the office.”
