Road accident victim succumbs

BRIEFLYPhagwara: Harpreet Kaur, a resident of Ranipur village, who was hit by a speeding car on June 8 near GT Road near Phagwara and sustained serious injuries, died at a hospital on Tuesday night. The police have registered a case under Sections 279 and 304-A of the IPC against the car driver, Daljit Singh, a resident of Hardofarala village. The accident occurred late on Wednesday evening on the Sansarpur Terrace road of the Talwara town. The second person injured in the mishap was identified as Amarjeet Singh, a resident of Depur village. Devinder Rana, who is posted at the BBMB office was going to his home in a village in HP after work.

OC Two injured as bikes collide Talwara (Hoshiarpur): Two persons, including a superintendent posted at the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) office, here, were seriously injured in a collision between two motorcycles that were coming from opposite directions. The accident occurred late on Wednesday evening on the Sansarpur Terrace road of the Talwara town. Both were admitted to the local BBMB Hospital for treatment. In view of the serious condition of both victims, they have been referred to the PGIMER, Chandigarh. The second person injured in the mishap was identified as Amarjeet Singh, a resident of Depur village. He was returning home after his duty at the liquor factory in Sansarpur.
