14 Balachaur government schools to go smart with community participation

Our CorrespondentNawanshahr, July 14A motivational visit by Education Secretary Krishan Kumar last week in self-made smart schools at Takarala and Bhaddi villages in the Balachaur subdivision of the district has started yielding encouraging results. He also asked the District Education Officer and District Smart School Mentors to initiate efforts to rope in NGOs and other communities to realise the dream of setting up digital classrooms in rural government schools. The District Education Officer, Secondary, Harcharan Singh, Deputy District Education Officer, Amrik Singh, district smart school mentors Principal Rajneesh Kumar, Raj Bhatia, Ravinder Surapuri and Baljinder Singh Virk had held a meeting with representatives of the Khawayeesh Sewa Society to provide financial assistance for the purpose. A comprehensive plan keeping in view the number of students and the estimated cost of setting up digital classrooms in different schools has been prepared. DEO Harcharan Singh also asked the teachers to mobilise community participation to bring improvement in school education and make it a mass movement.

Our Correspondent Nawanshahr, July 14 A motivational visit by Education Secretary Krishan Kumar last week in self-made smart schools at Takarala and Bhaddi villages in the Balachaur subdivision of the district has started yielding encouraging results. As many as 14 government high schools situated at Mutton, Paniali Kalan, Simbal Mazara, Garhi Kanugo, Garlon Bet, Mehatpur, Olladani, Chandpur Rurki, Chhadauri, Kaulgarh, Pojewal, Chandiani Khurd and Rakkeran Dhan villages will soon set up digital classrooms. Khawayeesh Sewa Society, an NGO, which has been doing a yeoman’s service in sprucing up infrastructural facilities in rural schools, has taken the plunge and would provide 50 per cent financial assistance to the schools for setting up digital classrooms, while the 50 per cent of the total funds would be mobilised through donations. The Education Secretary during his visit to the self-made smart schools at Takarala and Bhaddi villages while lauding the dedicated efforts of schoolteachers and the NGO for lifting the standard of infrastructural facilities as well as quality education in the rural schools, exhorted them to replicate the same in other schools. He also asked the District Education Officer and District Smart School Mentors to initiate efforts to rope in NGOs and other communities to realise the dream of setting up digital classrooms in rural government schools.
