Tribune News ServiceNawanshahr, August 19In Nawanshahr, residents living in Kalra Mohalla, Kulam Road and Chuharpur village areas were moved to safer places as the flow in Bein, situated on Garhshankar Road, increased due to rain. Officials said these areas were low lying and people belonging to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category stay here. As per information, around 80 persons were sent to Kirpal Ashram and some were taken to gurdwara and gym. To ensure safety of residents of 67 villages adjoining the Dhussi Bundh of the Sutlej, the officials were asked to evacuate the residents to safer places. The buildings included a shop on Railway Road and three houses in Purian Mohalla, Mitha Bazaar and Khingran Gate.
