Neetu Shutteran Wala’s daughter dies in mishap

Jalandhar, August 19Nine-year-old daughter of Neetu Shutteran Wala, a popular Independent candidate who contested the LS poll held this year, breathed her last today after she was hit with a car after falling off an auto-rickshaw. She fell off the vehicle after it hit a manhole cover. Neetu Shutteran Wala had rose to fame during the Lok Sabha polling day as he cried outside a counting centre for not getting enough votes. “I got a call from the school principal at around 2.30 pm that Sakshi had got injured. My child’s head was crushed when I saw her,” an inconsolable Neetu said, adding that he had sent his daughter to the school and had never imagined that she would never return.

She fell off the vehicle after it hit a manhole cover. Sakshi, the deceased, was studying in Class IV and was returning home from school. Neetu Shutteran Wala had rose to fame during the Lok Sabha polling day as he cried outside a counting centre for not getting enough votes. The police investigating the matter said the girl was brought dead to a hospital and the incident occurred opposite Devi Talab Mandir here. IO Surinder Singh said the auto-rickshaw was hit by a manhole cover, after which Sakshi, who was sitting on the right side of the auto, fell off it and a passing car hit her. A CCTV footage of the incident has also got captured in which the girl is seen falling off the auto-rickshaw and getting hit by the car. Neetu said auto drivers were the most reckless drivers. “I got a call from the school principal at around 2.30 pm that Sakshi had got injured. My child’s head was crushed when I saw her,” an inconsolable Neetu said, adding that he had sent his daughter to the school and had never imagined that she would never return. The police said a case would be registered after taking statement of the child’s parents. — TNS
