Both were discharging duties in an inebriated state Jalandhar, August 21 Taking note of the video viral that went on social media, in which a Punjab roadways driver and a conductor were found discharging duties in a drukun mood, the roadways authorities today terminated them. The video was shot by a passenger, who later uploaded it on the social media. In one minute 14 seconds vodeo, the driver could be seen driving the bus in a drunkun mood. The bus was reportedly en route to Jalandhar and they were caught on camera near Banga. Meanwhile, the commuters and the passengers also recorded them on their phones while they were held by the traffic police near Banga. Both confessed to the crime for having consumed the alcohol and pleaded the commuters not to capture them. Parneet Singh Minhas, General Manager, roadways Jalandhar, stated, the bus belonged to the Batala roadways depot and when the video reached to the Batala GM, he immediately terminated the driver and conductor. Notably, a similar incident was reported last month in which a driver of the Punjab roadways, posted at Jalandhar depot was discontinued from his services for making a ‘Tiktok’ video while driving. Risking the lives of passengers, he was ferrying them from Delhi to Jalandhar on the roadways volvo bus. Meanwhile, social media was flooded with residents comments, mentioning the similar incident they faced.
