National Deworming Day observed

Our CorrespondentPhagwara, August 21National Deworming Day was observed on the premises of MLU DAV College, here yesterday. Principal Dr Kiranjit Randhawa apprised the students of the importance of deworming. Worms feed on last tissues, including blood, which leads to the loss of iron and protein and often contributes to anemia. Some worms can cause the loss of appetite, reducing nutritional intake and physical fitness. District Education Officer distributed ‘albendazole’ among the students of Classes XI and XII so that they could absorb nutrients in a better way, combat malnutrition and symptoms like illness, etc.
