Punjab Police, Indian Railways settle for draw

In another match, Indian Oil Mumbai and ONGC Delhi also locked each other at 1-1. In the third quarter, Punjab Police earned a penalty stroke. Subsequently, in the fourth quarter, Pardeep Singh of Indian Railways converted a penalty corner in 55th minute as equaliser. In the evening match of the day, Indian Oil Mumbai and ONGC Delhi played a controlled game.

Jalandhar, October 12 In the ongoing 36th Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament, Punjab Police Jalandhar and Indian Railways today locked 1-1 draw at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium. As it was a league match, both teams bagged one point each. In another match, Indian Oil Mumbai and ONGC Delhi also locked each other at 1-1. The first match of the league was played on very fast note. First half of the game was goalless. In the third quarter, Punjab Police earned a penalty stroke. International player Sarvanjit Singh from Punjab Police scored first goal in the match. Subsequently, in the fourth quarter, Pardeep Singh of Indian Railways converted a penalty corner in 55th minute as equaliser. In the evening match of the day, Indian Oil Mumbai and ONGC Delhi played a controlled game. First half was goalless. In the third quarter, ONGC got a lead in 35th minute when Sarbjit Singh sounded the board (1-0). Two minutes later, Indian Oil equalised the game. The equaliser came from the stick of Talwinder Singh (1-1). The matches to be played on Sunday (October 13) between: Punjab National Bank Delhi v/s Indian Navy at 4.30 pm and Army XI v/s ONGC Delhi at 6 pm.
