Soni to review welfare schemes in 4 districts

Tribune News ServiceJalandhar, October 22Punjab Medical Education Minister OP Soni will regularly review the implementation of several welfare schemes initiated by the state government in Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Amritsar and Tarn Taran districts. A spokesperson for the Punjab Government said Cabinet Minister OP Soni would be the chairman of the District Grievances Committees in Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Amritsar and Tarn Taran districts. He said Soni would ensure the benefits of welfare schemes reach all needy persons in these districts. He said apart from this, the minister would look into ways to generate additional income sources in departments and connect NGOs and public with government schemes. Soni will also monitor various schemes meant for people, including MGNREGA, e-Ration Card (Atta-Dal), old-age pension, financial assistance to widows and orphans.

Soni will also monitor various schemes meant for people, including MGNREGA, e-Ration Card (Atta-Dal), old-age pension, financial assistance to widows and orphans.
