Two get five-year jail for snatching

Our CorrespondentHoshiarpur, October 22The court of District and Sessions Judge Amarjot Bhatti sentenced two persons to five years of imprisonment for snatching a purse under Section 379-B of the IPC. In case of non-payment of fine, they will have to undergo an additional imprisonment of one month. Besides, finding them guilty under Section 411 of the IPC, the court sentenced them one-year imprisonment and a fine of Rs5,000 each. He had told the police that while returning home after his duty, his wife and he were buying vegetables near Bajwara. He had said when his wife was paying the amount to purchase vegetables, two persons on a scooter snatched her purse and escaped.
