DoP: Make separate queues for the elderly

Tribune News ServiceJalandhar, October 22Taking cognisance of difficulties faced by senior citizens in post offices, the Department of Posts has directed in-charges at the post offices across the country to make arrangements for making separate queues for all senior citizens. A copy of the circular had been mailed to all managing officers at the post offices and they have been advised to implement the directions as soon as possible. “It has been observed that elderly people and pensioners have to wait for hours in queues to get their work done at post offices. Hence, to make sure that they do not face any difficulty at post-offices, the administration in-charges should adopt a provision of giving priority treatment to senior citizens in their respective post offices,” reads the letter issued by Devendra Sharma, Assistant Director, Department of Posts.
