RURAL AREASTribune News ServiceJalandhar, November 11The Education Department has asked district education officers (DEOs) not to give additional charge of schools to principals posted in rural areas. But, the principals who are posted in city schools must be given additional charge of the schools, which are without regular heads, the DEOs told. The Education Department has taken cognisance of the fact that school principals in rural areas are given charges of three to four schools while principals in city schools are not given any additional charge. The Education Department has further asked the DEOs to equal charges of schools to principals posted in rural and urban areas. In the Shahkot-I block, there are three schools, which don’t have regular teachers.
