Avneet KaurJalandhar, November 12Member of Provincial Parliament for Mississauga-Streetsville, Ontario, Canada, Nina Tangri along with her husband Ashwani Tangri today paid obeisance at Gurdwara Ber Sahib in Sultanpur Lodhi on the occasion of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of the Sikhism. Talking to the Tribune, Nina Tangri said it was a true honour for her to represent Premier Doug Ford and the Government of Ontario at the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev in Sultanpur Lodhi today. She thanked countless volunteers present at the event, Punjab Police and the Punjab Government for organising the well-coordinated event. The Canadian MP is also a businesswoman who deals in insurance and investment and has her in-laws at Bilga village in Jalandhar. Sharing her plans for her hometown in Bilga, Nina Tangri said another main purpose for her visit this month was that the school she and her family opened for children of their village was completing 25 years.
