Works worth Rs 3 crore cleared at F&CC meet

Tribune News ServiceJalandhar, November 21Works worth around Rs 3 crore were cleared during the Finance and Contract Committee (F&CC) meeting of the Municipal Corporation today. Work on the installation of 10 tube wells by Bhagwat Engineers and Contractors was declared pending by Mayor Jagdish Raja. Works of two roads, sewerage and three tube wells, worth about Rs 3 crore, were passed during the F&CC meeting. Works worth Rs 53 lakh (for the construction of two roads) and Rs 99 lakh (for super suction machines) were cleared. Sewerage cleaning works amounting to Rs 99 lakh (from Model Town to Mata Rani Chowk worth Rs 89.34 lakh and from Surya Enclave to JC Resort worth Rs 9.54 lakh) were also cleared.

Jalandhar, November 21 Works worth around Rs 3 crore were cleared during the Finance and Contract Committee (F&CC) meeting of the Municipal Corporation today. Work on the installation of 10 tube wells by Bhagwat Engineers and Contractors was declared pending by Mayor Jagdish Raja. The Mayor has been mulling action against companies which are failing to complete their works on time. Two such cases were taken up during the meeting. Works of two roads, sewerage and three tube wells, worth about Rs 3 crore, were passed during the F&CC meeting. While there was a proposal for 17 tube wells, of these only seven were passed during the meeting. Woks on tube wells at Indira Park, Bank Colony, Gurunankpura West, Prithvi Nagar, Shiv Vihar, Tagore Nagar, Ramamandi, Bhatra Mohalla, Urban Estate, Phase 2, and Bindi Ghodi Wala Park (Islamabad) have been kept pending. Works worth Rs 53 lakh (for the construction of two roads) and Rs 99 lakh (for super suction machines) were cleared. Sewerage cleaning works amounting to Rs 99 lakh (from Model Town to Mata Rani Chowk worth Rs 89.34 lakh and from Surya Enclave to JC Resort worth Rs 9.54 lakh) were also cleared. Tenders (applied for the third time) for Gulab Devi Road (Rs 28.5 lakh) and Leather Complex Road (also for the third time) for Rs 24.24 lakh – were also approved.
