144th Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan from Dec 27

Tribune News ServiceJalandhar, December 9Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma today assured support and cooperation from the district administration to the Shree Baba Harivallabh Sangeet Mahasabha for organising the world renowned annual 144th Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan from December 27 to 29 at the Sri Devi Talaab Mandir complex. Chairing a meeting of the sabha held at the local Circuit House, the Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh and Deputy Commissioner of Police Arun Saini, said the administration was duty-bound for ensuring elaborate arrangements to make this gala event a huge success. The Deputy Commissioner said every effort would be made to ensure that music lovers and participants coming to the mega event did not face any sort of inconvenience. He said this event has managed to keep the flame of classical traditional music alive among the youth. Addressing the gathering, former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry Iqbal Singh lauded the role of the administration and the Shree Baba Harivallabh Sangeet Mahasabha for organising the mega event.

He said requisite arrangements would be made for traffic diversion, parking of vehicles, security arrangements and other facilities during the three-day musical extravaganza. The Deputy Commissioner said every effort would be made to ensure that music lovers and participants coming to the mega event did not face any sort of inconvenience. He said this event has managed to keep the flame of classical traditional music alive among the youth. Addressing the gathering, former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry Iqbal Singh lauded the role of the administration and the Shree Baba Harivallabh Sangeet Mahasabha for organising the mega event. He also recalled his long association with the event spanning for over four decades. Taking part in deliberations, president of the sabha Purnima Beri and general secretary Deepak Bali said several renowned artistes from across the globe would perform during the event. They said on the first day of the event, December 27, S Padamkar Salunke (shehnai), Pt Vinod Kumar Dwivedi (dhrupad), Pt Narendra Nath Dhar (sarod), Pt Ajoy Chakrabarty (vocal), Dr N Rajam (violin) and Shashwati Mandal (vocal) would deliver their performances. They said on December 28, Jaskaran Singh (tabla), Vramanti Sarkar (vocal), Lalit Sisodia (harmonium), Rashmi Chaudhary (vocal), Pt Partha Pratim Roy (sitar), Pt Umakant Gundecha and Pt Anant Ramakant Gundecha (dhrupad), Pt Vijay Ghate (tabla), Shakir Khan (sitar), Suranjan Khandalkar (vocal), Milind Kulkarni (harmonium), Sheetal Kolwalkar (kathak), Begum Parween Sultana (vocal) and Kiranpal Singh Deoora UK (santoor) would perform. On December 29, Siddeshwar Dasopant Undalkar (pakhawaj), Simarpreet Singh (vocal thumri), Pt Harsh Narayan (sarangi), Kashish Mittal (vocal), Lakshay Mohan Gupta and Aayush Mohan Gupta (sitar and sarod), Prof Harvinder Singh (vocal), Pt Nityanand Haldipur (flute), Mitali Banerjee Bhawmik (vocal), Rimpa Siva (tabla) and Pt Raghunandan Panshikar (vocal) would regale the audiences.
