Commissioner inspects Treasury office

Chaudhary also inspected the strong room in the Treasury and took stock of the entire mechanism for ensuring its security. The Commissioner asked the officers to ensure the proper upkeep of registers in the office. The Divisional Commissioner said any inconvenience to the people, especially the pensioners of the state, was not bearable.

Gagandeep Singh Jalandhar, May 25 To streamline the functioning of the District Treasury office, Commissioner, Jalandhar Division, Raj Kamal Chaudhary today inspected the treasury at the District Administrative Complex. Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma, the Divisional Commissioner spent more than an hour at the Treasury office and minutely checked the records. During the inspection, Chaudhary laid thrust on following proper rules and procedures during the functioning of this key department of the district administration. He categorically said that any delay in the passing of bills would not be tolerated at any cost. Chaudhary asked the officers to make concerted efforts for facilitating the people and to play by the rule. The Divisional Commissioner said any inconvenience to the people, especially the pensioners of the state, was not bearable. He personally inspected the token registers, pension registers, GPF files and other registers and gave necessary directions to the officer for ensuring the early disposal of works. Chaudhary said the state government was committed to providing smooth and hassle-free administrative services to the people and no laxity in the functioning of this key department would be tolerated. The Commissioner asked the officers to ensure the proper upkeep of registers in the office. Chaudhary also inspected the strong room in the Treasury and took stock of the entire mechanism for ensuring its security. He also inspected the record of sale of stamp paper and revenue stamps in the district.
