Jalandhar, July 12 A conference on Goods and Services Tax (GST) was organised by the GST and Taxation Bar, Jalandhar, and the Excise and Taxation Bar where Anurag Aggarwal, Financial Commissioner, Taxation, Punjab, was the chief guest. BK Virdi, Deputy Excise Taxation Commissioner, was also present on the occasion. Since the GST has created confusion in the minds of the people, traders, industrialists and dealers were also called and asked to put forth their queries in case of any confusion. Members of the Federation of Jalandhar Industrial and Traders Association also handed over the memorandum to Aggarwal and said there were discrepancies in the GST. It was mentioned in the memorandum that hardware like iron and steel, hand tools, sports industry, electrical accessories, switchgear, raw hide, skin industry, footwear and hawai chappal have been affected by the tax. Anurag Aggarwal, while addressing the traders, said he has been visiting the districts to address the queries related to GST. He volunteered help saying if the people came forth with their problems, he would try to answer them then or in writing later.
