Health team challans 14 after larvae found in stagnant water

Dr Satish Kumar, District Epidemiologist, told the media that as many as 14 challans were issued. The teams checked utensils lying at homes, coolers, refrigerator trays, vases, utensils to serve water to birds and other places where water can accumulate. On the instructions of Civil Surgeon Dr Raghubir Singh Randhawa, Assistant Health Officer, Municipal Corporation, Dr Kishan conducted a door–to-door survey of areas like Santokhpura, Babu Labh Singh Nagar, Bhargo Camp, Mitthu Basti and Model Town, among others. He also said the joint teams of the Health Department and the Municipal Corporation shall carry out the survey for the next three months and all homes in Jalandhar will be covered. Jalandhar, July 12 As many as six joint teams of the municipal corporation and the District Health Department were constituted for the prevention of diseases like dengue and chikangunya which surveyed as many as 365 homes in the district. On the instructions of Civil Surgeon Dr Raghubir Singh Randhawa, Assistant Health Officer, Municipal Corporation, Dr Kishan conducted a door–to-door survey of areas like Santokhpura, Babu Labh Singh Nagar, Bhargo Camp, Mitthu Basti and Model Town, among others. The teams checked utensils lying at homes, coolers, refrigerator trays, vases, utensils to serve water to birds and other places where water can accumulate. He also said the joint teams of the Health Department and the Municipal Corporation shall carry out the survey for the next three months and all homes in Jalandhar will be covered. Dr Preetkamal Singh, in-charge, IDSP, said, “Friday is observed as dry day. Awareness will be spread among the people to check outbreak of diseases.” He said, “People should also be aware and spread the word in their neighbourhood so that the breeding of mosquitoes can be stopped to put a check on the spread of diseases.”
