Fake travel agent booked

Superintendent of Police, Phagwara, Parminder Singh Bhandhal said the accused struck a deal at KG Resorts in Phagwara on July 22, 2015. The SP said the police was investigating the matter but no arrests had been made so far. But neither could the accused send them Canada nor returned their money. The complainants gave him their passport and Rs 50,000 on the first day, Rs 40,000 on July 27, Rs 26,500 on August 5, Rs 5 lakh on August 18, Rs 6,33,500 on September 3, Rs 1.60 lakh on October 22 and Rs 3.5 lakh on September 11 in 2015. Our CorrespondentPhagwara, July 13Following a complaint lodged by George Masih and Purshotam Lal of Chugitti near Jalandhar, the Sadar Police, Phagwara, have registered a case under section 420 and 406 of the IPC against a fake travel agent, identified as Charanjit Bhatia, a resident of village Kathgarh in Nawanshahr district on the charge of duping the complainants of Rs 17.60 lakh on the pretext of sending them to Canada.
