Meritorious School students felicitated

Tribune News ServiceJalandhar, July 13Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma today honoured students of the Meritorious School, Jalandhar, at a function to felicitate 21 bright students of the institute from the 2016-17 batch here today. Sharma called upon the students to work hard and avoid social maladies like drugs to achieve their dreams. Earlier, District Education Officer Sunita Sahota Randhawa, District Guidance Counsellor Surjit Lal, Director RUDSET Jagdish Lal and principal of the school Ramanpreet Singh welcomed the chief guest. He said students must follow great leaders to prove their mettle in every sphere of life. The DC said the success story of these schools, with students scoring more than 80 per cent marks in government schools, had shaped careers in the right direction.

The DC said the success story of these schools, with students scoring more than 80 per cent marks in government schools, had shaped careers in the right direction. Citing the examples of leaders like Dr Baba Sahib Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi, the DC said their life and philosophy would always act as a source of inspiration for the students to excel, even in adversity. He said students must follow great leaders to prove their mettle in every sphere of life. Sharma called upon the students to work hard and avoid social maladies like drugs to achieve their dreams. “These are your formative years and I will advise you to dedicate yourself to studies to serve the nation and society in right earnest,” added Sharma. Earlier, District Education Officer Sunita Sahota Randhawa, District Guidance Counsellor Surjit Lal, Director RUDSET Jagdish Lal and principal of the school Ramanpreet Singh welcomed the chief guest.
