Rural police seize drugs worth Rs 18 crore in 4 months

In addition, 137 proclaimed offenders (POs) wanted in various cases have been arrested in the district. According to the SSP, the drive against drug peddlers and proclaimed offenders will continue. Bhullar said recoveries under the NDPS Act and the arrest of proclaimed offenders have been made in a special drive that began on March 16. He said special teams of officers have been constituted to monitor the drive.

Jalandhar, July 13 The Jalandhar (Rural) police have confiscated drugs worth around Rs 18 crore in the last four months. In addition, 137 proclaimed offenders (POs) wanted in various cases have been arrested in the district. Senior Superintendent of Police (Rural) Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that from March 16 to July 12, 561 cases under various sections of the NDPS Act have been registered and a total of 608 accused (547 male and 61 female) have been arrested. Bhullar said recoveries under the NDPS Act and the arrest of proclaimed offenders have been made in a special drive that began on March 16. He said special teams of officers have been constituted to monitor the drive. According to the SSP, the drive against drug peddlers and proclaimed offenders will continue.
