Jalandhar, July 14The chief whip of Akali Dal and Adampur MLA Pawan Tinu today alleged that the Congress-led state government had indulged in favouritism while appointing law officers. He said lawyers from the reserved category had not been given a due representation in the 121 appointments of law officers made so far. He added that if Dalits had not been inducted as law officers, not much could be expected for welfare of the community. Tinu said instead of giving a chance to common advocates, the government had chosen to appoint its kith and kin. In another demand for the community, he said the Centre should consider waiving of the GST for those engaged in raw leather.— TNS
