Cant-based man kills wife with sharp-edged weapons

SHO, Cantonment police station, Rampal, said, “People took the woman to the cantonment hospital, where she was declared brought dead. 32 of gali number 22 in Jalandhar Cantonment, murdered his wife Shobha Sharma (44) at their home, where they were living on rent. While the couple were having regular fights, the man was suspicious that the woman was having an affair. The couple were living along with their daughter Ashima, on the first floor of their home in the cantonment.

Jalandhar, November 10 A cantonment-based man allegedly killed his wife after attacking her with two knives this morning. Sanjay Kumar, a resident of mohalla No. 32 of gali number 22 in Jalandhar Cantonment, murdered his wife Shobha Sharma (44) at their home, where they were living on rent. Repeatedly hitting her torso with knives, he fatally injured her. While neighbours and relatives took the woman to hospital, she was declared brought dead there. The accused, after the incident, surrendered at the cantonment police station. The police arrested Sanjay and a case under Sections 302 and 323 of the IPC was registered against him. He had also attacked his daughter who tried to save her mother. As per initial information, Sanjay Kumar was an alcoholic. Originally a resident of Deep Nagar in Jalandhar, Sanjay, an auto driver by profession, had been told to leave their house by his parents, after which he was living in this recommendation with his wife and daughter Ashima (17), who was also at home during the time of the incident. The couple have two more daughters – Kajal (19) who lives in Delhi and Kiran (18). SHO, Cantonment police station, Rampal, said, “People took the woman to the cantonment hospital, where she was declared brought dead. The couple were living along with their daughter Ashima, on the first floor of their home in the cantonment. While the couple were having regular fights, the man was suspicious that the woman was having an affair. The woman’s post-mortem shall be conducted tomorrow.”
