Rs 4-lakh robbery in Talwara

Our CorrepondentTalwara, November 15An accountant and a driver of a Jalandhar-based vegetable trader, Davinder Narang, were collecting cash in the region. While threatening them with sharp-edged weapons, they snatched their bag containing Rs 4 lakh in cash and fled towards Talwara. Davinder Narang, the Jalandhar-based trader who reached Talwara after getting the information, said his employees had collected money from Tanda, Dasuya, Mukerian and finally reached Talwara from where they had to head back to Jalandhar. After getting the information of the robbery, the station house officers of Hajipur, Talwara and Mukerian along with Mukerian DSP started a search operation to trace the culprits.

They reached Talwara for collection from where they had to head back to Jalandhar when three bike-borne persons took away their cash bag. SHOs of Hajipur, Talwara and Mukerian begin search operation. Three bike-borne men robbed two persons of Rs 4 lakh near Laluta village on the Talwara-Dasuya road. The victims are employees of a Jalandhar-based vegetable trader. According to information, Shashi Bhushan alias Montu (accountant) and Satnam Singh (driver) in their car were collecting money from vegetable vendors in Tanda and Talwara region. Davinder Narang, the Jalandhar-based trader who reached Talwara after getting the information, said his employees had collected money from Tanda, Dasuya, Mukerian and finally reached Talwara from where they had to head back to Jalandhar. When they reached near Laluta village, three unknown men came on a motorcycle and forced them to stop their car. While threatening them with sharp-edged weapons, they snatched their bag containing Rs 4 lakh in cash and fled towards Talwara. After getting the information of the robbery, the station house officers of Hajipur, Talwara and Mukerian along with Mukerian DSP started a search operation to trace the culprits. The campaign continued till late evening but they couldn’t get any clue. Hoshiarpur SSP J Elanchezhian too reached the spot and took information from the victims.
