Two projects set to evolve land revenue system: DC

During the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma today said that the online registration and demarcation of land by using electronic system introduced in Jalandhar as pilot project would transform the land revenue system in the district. The demarcation scheme, however, got launched today simultaneously in five cities of Punjab. The project — National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS) — has been developed by the National Informatics Centre, which had teams working in Pune, Delhi and Jalandhar for the project. The Punjab CM in the presence of his entire Cabinet, through video conferencing told the DC that these revolutionary steps were aimed at providing clean, transparent, effective and accountable land revenue system to people.
