Two accused stole RCs, used them for snatched cars

SSP Kuldeep Singh Chahal said they changed the number plate somewhere between Kurali and Ropar.Chahal said, "All the five accused are related to each other. The RC and number plate used in the crime was stolen from Ludhiana. Sunny Masih was a native of the same village and came in contact with Goldy after which he joined the gang. "The SSP said once the accused were brought on production warrants, police would interrogate them about the number of RCs they had stolen and used in carjackings.He said they had planned to sell the stolen Verna car in Jammu and Kashmir. They had been stealing RCs of vehicles.

MOHALI: Carjackers Sunny Masih and Goldy Masih used to steal registration certificates (RCs) of different vehicles from Ludhiana and use them for stolen vehicles of the same make and colour, police claimed on Monday.In the Mohali carjacking, they used the stolen RC of PB-10-E-7200 of a Hyundai Verna registered at Ludhiana. Police recovered the RC of the fake number plate used on the Hyundai Verna car they had snatched from Sector 126 resident Navneet Kumar.Police said they also recovered another RC of a Maruti Dzire car with registration number PB-10-FG-9198 from the possession of Goldy and Amanpreet, the third accused.
