Panthankot carjacking: Cops visits Jammu, questions taxi operators

At the same time the security has been tightened on Jammu-Pathankot national highway, while additional check points have been raised.Four unidentified persons had carjacked a passenger taxi bearing registration No. JAMMU: A team of Punjab Police on Thursday visited Jammu Railway Station and questioned the taxi operators to continue its investigations in carjacking of a passenger taxi by four unidentified men in Madhopur on Wednesday.“On Wednesday the unidentified persons, the carjackers, after having hired the taxi from Jammu railway station for Pathankot but on reaching Madhopur, they thrashed the driver and fled away with the taxi,” police here said. The driver, identified as Raj Kumar and resident of Saza, district Doda, had narrated the incident to police. “A team of Punjab Police this afternoon reached Jammu as a part of their investigation,” police said.Punjab Police officials also questioned the taxi operators and scrutinized their records.An alert was sounded in Pathankot-Kathua regions on Punjab-J&K border, after four persons hijacked a taxi on gun point in Madhopur on Wednesday.
